The Japan Council of Greater Kansas City was founded in 2004 to foster communication and cooperation among Kansas City's Japan-related organizations, promote cultural events, and provide support to member organizations upon the closing of the Consulate General of Japan at Kansas City.
Its mission is to raise awareness of activities and events in the Greater Kansas City area related to Japan and Japanese culture.
The Consulate General of Japan in Chicago maintains an event calendar. Many of the events are listed. Below are links to Kansas and Missouri events on their page.

Members and guests at the January meeting included Consul General Shinoda and his wife, Consul Matsuo and Honorary Consul General for Kansas City Michael Braude.
